Maine Dot - The
Gateway 1 Project - Maine's Midcoast is growing rapidly. Click here to see
just how fast.
A group of Midcoast residents had an idea - come up with a way for towns and the state to work together and plan for growth along the Route 1 corridor. Their goals: help the Midcoast adapt to change in a way that supports growth and maintains our quality of life. The project is Gateway 1 and we need your feedback. The Gateway 1 team has developed a series of stories about how the Midcoast could look in 20 years. We want to know what you like about them - and what you don't like. Please go to www.gateway1.org for a glimpse into the future, more information and ways to get involved.
Let Evan Richert, associate professor, Muskie School, show you a demonstration of growth and sprawl, as it relates to our communities. Please send an email to cmorris@morriscomm.net for a transcript of Evan's presentation.
